Rambusch was an active participant in the creation of a unique family of decorative lighting fixtures for the small, newly completed Helsinki Finland Temple. The design directive was to create a family of fixtures that blended with the locale and its history, while still displaying a unique style and mood.
The fixtures were fabricated from yellow brass with a hand-applied glaze over the base stain, providing a sense of movement and shading in the luminaire, reminiscent of the clean style of Eero Saarinen. A decorative element was brought forth through the creation of unique sand-carved details on the glass shades and tubes. The result is a set of fixtures that is truly understandable yet unique, both inspiring and supportive of the environment in which they have been placed.
