St. Katharine Drexel Shrine, Philadelphia, PA
Saint Katharine Drexel is the second American-born person ever to be canonized. Her tomb was moved to Philadelphia to make it more easily visited for prayers. This has been facilitated by specialized lighting, controls, as well as furnishing provided by Rambusch.
Rambusch was pleased to have been asked to help develop a new area of reverence to enshrine the remains of St. Katharine Drexel.
Working with Reverend Gerald Gill, the Rector and Pastor of the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul, we first developed and installed a new lighting and dimming control system. The flexible lighting allows various liturgies to proceed independently in the Shrine area. In addition, Rambusch fabricated a new, simple brass railing for the use of visitors as they pay their respects before the Shrine.
It has been our pleasure to work in this special space for four generations.
